At its meeting on 10 February 2021, WWSOSA’s Management Committee proposed to change WWSOSA’s Financial Year-end from 31 July to 31 December

There are several reasons for this, the foremost being so that our programme cycle and the financial cycle can be coherent. We have various organisations we have to report to, and they often use a calendar year for their funding and reporting cycle. This move also makes for more straightforward reporting on what has been achieved within a calendar year, within the same annual budget period. This change will not cause any break in our reports or audits, and we will ensure that our audits and reports will be transparent and comprehensive.

According to our constitution, our members should approve any change in the constitution.

In these unusual times, a physical meeting is not possible, but we want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to be heard. So, we have a variety of possible ways in which you can respond.

1. Quick online poll

If you know what your response will be, you can give just 1 minute of your time and respond right now:

I approve changing the financial year of We Will Speak Out SA so that it runs from 1 January to 31 December.
